Elizabeth Bishop joined Austin Gastroenterology in September 2008. She is currently working under the supervision of Drs. Robinson and Ziebert. Elizabeth is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the Texas Medical Board.

Biography
Monica Becks joined the Austin Gastroenterology team in October of 2012, and works under the supervision of Dr. Kumar at the South James Casey location. Prior to joining the Austin Gastro team, Monica completed her clinical rotation at a variety of clinics throughout California, including Kaiser Fremont Surgical Department, Los Angeles Christian Health Centers, Doctor’s Medical Center Emergency Department and the SOMA Orthopedics Medical Group in San Francisco. She also worked at the California Orthopedic Institute as a Physical Therapy Aide. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of California, San Diego, and completed her physician assistant studies and earned a Master of Public Health at Touro University in California.

In her free time, Monica likes to swim, run, paint and spend time with friends and family.

Biography
Britney Knowlton joined the Austin Gastroenterology team in August of 2012, and works under the supervision of Dr. Harish K. Gagneja in the St. David’s Plaza and Kyle offices. Prior to joining the Austin Gastro team, Britney conducted three years of research in male infertility with her research published in Fertility and Sterility, the INCIID Patient Newsletter, and presented to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Britney completed undergraduate studies in biology and nutrition at Cornell University and earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at DeSales University. Britney was honored on the Dean’s List all semesters during her Master’s education at DeSales and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Academic Honors Society.

Originally from Southern California, Britney lived in New York City for four years prior to moving to Austin with her husband and two cats in 2012. She enjoys rock climbing, swing dancing, sampling new cuisine and enjoying Austin’s live music scene in her free time.

Louise Wilson, N.P.

Biography
Bringing ten years of nursing experience to the team, Louise Wilson joined Austin Gastroenterology in September of 2012 and assists Dr. Chad Long in the Cedar Park office. Prior to joining the Austin Gastro team, Louise spent ten years working as a Nurse Practitioner with Dekalb Gastroenterology Associates in Decatur, Georgia.

After completing her bachelor’s degree in nursing, Louise spent time as a Charge Nurse and Team Leader for the U.S. Army in Landstuhl, Germany. She then moved to Atlanta to complete her Master’s education at Georgia State while working as an OR Supervisor and OR Nurse at the Dermatology Association of Atlanta and as an OR Nurse for Dr. Janice Johnston, OB/GYN.

With experience in OB-GYN, medical and OR hospital units and family practice, Louise brings a wealth of experience to the team while enjoying her new home in Austin, Texas.

Erica Burg, M.S.N., N.P.-B.C.

Biography
Erica joined the Austin Gastroenterology team in September 2016. Prior to that she worked as a nurse practitioner for five years in a gastroenterology clinic in Portland, Oregon, which involved patient care in both the clinic and hospital setting. Other focus areas over the last 15 years include ICU, older adults and hospice care. Erica attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for her undergraduate degree in nursing followed by her master’s degree in nursing. She is nationally board certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and by the Texas Board of Nursing.

In her free time she enjoys exploring Austin with her husband, daughter and son. She also enjoys traveling, paddle boarding, hiking, music, food, art and spending time with family and friends.

Biography
Maureen Dave joined the Austin Gastroenterology team in May 2016 and works as a hospitalist physician assistant with the central office physicians at three Austin hospitals: Seton Main, St. David's 32nd St and Heart Hospital. She is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is licensed through the Texas Medical Board.

Prior to joining Austin Gastroenterology, Maureen spent 11 years in Family and Internal Medicine at Premier Family Physicians and at Baylor Scott & White Health. After graduating from Daemen College with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree, she began her practice in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Maureen was a student athlete at SUNY at Buffalo, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology.

Maureen has kept up her interest in sports through active participation in competitive running, rowing, in-line skating and cycling. However, now her greatest passion is spending time with her husband, Varshal, and their two children, Zara (2014) and Nikhil (2015).

Laura Kerr began her career with Austin Gastroenterology in the summer of 2003, working under the supervision of Dr. Willeford at our Central office. She earned her bachelor's degree in communication at the University of Kansas in 1996 and completed her physician assistant studies at Weill Cornell Medical College in 2003. Laura is a native of Houston and has lived in Austin for seven years upon returning from her training in New York City. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her children, Jenny and Jack.

Heather Franz has been an Austin resident since 2005. While receiving her nursing degree, she focused on diagnosing and treating illness in the adult and geriatric population and managing chronic illnesses. Prior to joining AG, she worked for three years as a nurse on the medical-surgical neurology floor at North Austin Medical Center. She enjoys working with a variety of gastroenterology patients, including those with celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, hepatitis, and cirrhosis. Using a holistic approach to improve the quality of life of her patients, she enjoys teaching and empowering patients as well as teaming up with them to individualize their treatment plan.

Biography
Yulia Lyuboslavsky, Advanced Practice Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, joined Austin Gastroenterology in March 2009.

She received her BS in nursing in 2006 and her MS in nursing in 2009, both from the University of Texas at Austin. Yulia was the recipient of The Seton Nurse Scholarship and a member of the dean’s list during her time at UT.

She has broad experience and expertise in gastrointestinal diseases and hepatology and is passionate about caring for complex patients with cirrhosis and hepatitis C. Yulia also enjoys the challenges of caring for patients with irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease and utilizes pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches in treatment. She has been working alongside Dr. Kevin Hsu for over four years, providing the highest quality of care to patients and their families.

Prior to joining Austin Gastroenterology, Yulia worked in trauma, critical care, orthopedics and the medical surgical field at Brackenridge Hospital. During her time there, she developed valuable experience in caring for patients with complex disorders.

Yulia is actively involved in mentoring and educating patients, other care providers and nursing students. She is certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing.

Yulia enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, belly dancing, playing board games, learning languages and training her cat.

After receiving her BS in biology from UT San Antonio and her PA from UT Southwestern in Dallas, Laura began her career as a respiratory therapist before transferring to Austin Gastroenterology.

Marni Martinez has lived in Austin since 1996. She received her undergraduate and master's degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. Biography
Julie Neighbors completed her undergraduate studies at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas in 1995. She studied nursing and prior to her work with Austin Gastroenterology, was employed as an emergency department and endoscopy nurse. She completed her physician assistant studies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in the year 2000. Julie has been with Austin Gastroenterology for nine years, working under the supervision of Drs. Stassen, Ziebert, Robinson, Ellis, Godell, Long and Frank. She functions as their hospitalist and makes rounds at all the north area hospitals.

Julie truly enjoys helping people and finds it is very rewarding "when you can improve the quality of a patient's life by treating their illness." She really appreciates being able to help patients learn about their disease so that they can be actively involved in their own care. While she enjoys all aspects of her work, she really has enjoyed hepatology and caring for patients with hepatitis C.

Jessica Langston received her undergraduate degree in exercise and sports science from Iowa State University in 2004. She completed her training as a physician assistant in 2007, with a Bachelor of Science Physician Assistant and a Master of Medical Science degrees from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Jessica moved to Austin and began working with Austin Gastroenterology in late 2007, working under the supervision of Dr. Stassen. She is currently certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.

While she is interested in all aspects of gastroenterology, her specific interests include hepatitis B, hepatitis C, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and ulcer disease. Carol Ray began her nursing career in 1986 as a trauma and surgical nurse. Carol's diverse nursing experience includes caring for the adult population in settings ranging from the ICU to home health and hospice. Lyndsay Solimine, A.G.P.C.N.P.

Biography
A native Austinite, Lyndsay completed her undergraduate studies in psychology and Spanish at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. She then attended Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing in Nashville, where she earned her master’s degree in nursing as an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. In Nashville, Lyndsay worked as a primary care nurse practitioner while simultaneously earning a certificate of practice for specializing in care for patients with HIV/AIDS. Her passion for infectious disease and antiretroviral therapy will translate well in treatment of various gastroenterology pathologies. Lyndsay strives to provide improved quality of life through a holistic approach to patient care.

Lyndsay moved back home to Austin to be closer to her family and to start working with Austin Gastroenterology under the supervision of Dr. Godell. In her free time, Lyndsay enjoys traveling, exercising and participating in the culinary and music scenes of Austin.

Deepika Srinivasan joined Austin Gastroenterology in January 2016. She attended Quinnipiac University and worked as a gastroenterology PA after graduation in 2014. Previously, Deepika was a licensed professional counselor for six years and worked extensively with children and families dealing with a range of mental health issues.

Deepika is originally from India and moved to the U.S. in 2001 for her graduate studies in psychology. She lived in Massachusetts and Connecticut before her move to Austin in 2015. She enjoys the varied cultural offerings in Austin and is looking forward to spending more time outdoors with her family.

Kara Skelton, P.A.-C.

Biography
Kara Skelton has been with Austin Gastroenterology since November 2001, working under the supervision of Drs. Becker and Utts. She was employed as a clinical laboratory assistant at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth and has also worked for the Texas Medical Association. Kara completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 1997, with a degree in biology. Her physician assistant studies were completed at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2001.

Kara really enjoys the interaction with her patients. She says she often learns management strategies from things they have tried. She believes this is a challenging and rewarding field of continuous progress and change, and she likes participating in the research and development of new treatments. She particularly enjoys treating liver disease and coordinates much of the care of patients involved in hepatitis research protocols. Kara has been certified by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners and the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is also board certified in general surgery by the NCCPA.

Biography
Dawn Warner is a physician assistant under the supervision of Dr. Carl Frank. She joined Austin Gastroenterology in March 2011, after working as a PA in Houston for the past nine years. Dawn has worked as a physician's assistant in gastroenterology since receiving her master's degree as a PA from Baylor College of Medicine in 2001.

Dawn enjoys the small town feel of Georgetown, where she resides. In her spare time, she loves to read and do crafts.

Mikel Zamora, P.A.-C.

Physician Assistant, Austin Gastroenterology

Biography
Mikel Zamora joined Austin Gastroenterology in September of 2004 and works under the supervision of Drs. Lubin, Ridgeway and Willeford. She is a 1999 graduate of the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology. Mikel completed her physician assistant training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2003. There she earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. She is currently certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners. Prior to joining Austin Gastroenterology she worked at a gastroenterology clinic in San Antonio and has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease. She has lived in Austin since 2004 and in Texas since 1995.
